Committed to ongoing innovation teamed with industry collaboration, HPM Legrand operates at the forefront of the industry in wiring devices, power protection, cable management and emergency lighting.

“HPM Legrand lives by its brand philosophy of continuous innovation and product  development in the electrical industry,” says Tony Berland, managing director and CEO at HPM Legrand. “We believe innovation is not only about big breakthroughs, but also about delivering small improvements to our products to make it easier, faster and safer for electrical contractors to do their jobs.”

COMMITTED TO INDUSTRY COLLABORATION

In emergency lighting, the Legrand LED Slide Connect G2 and the minimalist E2 Edgelight have won a number of awards for design innovation. The Arteor range of wiring accessories is the only one of its kind in Australia, touching the high design segment and featuring beautiful hand-crafted finishes from metals to leathers and mirrors. The Cablofil wire mesh cable tray can be installed faster than any traditional tray or ladder, has a superior fire rating and is easily customisable onsite, making it the stand-out cable tray product. The introduction of the Legrand dual USB charger has been an industry game-changer for charging mobile devices at their maximum charging speeds.Dimmable Driver

Most recently, an extensive and structured industry consultation program was conducted for the Excel Life range. In addition to conducting focus groups with architects, developers and end-user customer groups, the HPM Legrand team engaged a significant number of electrical contractors from across Australia for feedback. “Four rounds of one-on-one interviews were conducted on-site across Australia. Engaging contractors in their work environment provided deep insights into the practical requirements of our products. This included SAA Triac Dimmable Driver.
understanding the impact of tools, customer preference, construction environment and building materials on electrical installations,” says Berland.

Using these insights, the Legrand research and development team created product prototypes that were tested on site by contractors. Continuous improvements were made until contractors felt all their needs had been met before the products were put into production.SAAdimmable driver

“We sought to deliver a range that ticks every box for contractors, and based on the feedback to date, we have achieved this. The Legrand Excel Life range is the most comprehensive offering on the market for residential, commercial and medical applications. The new single and double powerpoints have been meticulously engineered to deliver 10 new benefits that together make them the fastest and safest powerpoints to install. A specification upgrade for acclaimed dual USB chargers (Gemcell’s Product of the Year 2015 and a finalist at the Good Design Awards 2015) (SAA Dimmable Driver),ensures they continue to remain the fastest USB powerpoints on the market, with a charging capacity of 2 x 2.4A, allowing even two of the latest Apple iPads to be simultaneously charged a full speed.
